Are payments final?
Yes. All payments are non-refundable. However, if you need to cancel your event, we’re happy to work with you to reschedule. In some cases, a credit may be applied toward a future event, depending on the timing of your cancellation and current availability. Please note that the full amount may not carry over.
How early should I book my event?
We recommend booking as early as possible to secure your preferred date, especially for weekends or peak seasons. Some clients book several months or even a year in advance. All dates are first come, first served and are only confirmed once the deposit in paid.
Where can my guests park?
Street parking is available on the east and west sides of Columbus Avenue, as well as the north and south sides of West Monroe and East Monroe. Additional parking can be found on adjacent neighborhood streets.
Can I drop items off before my time slot?
Unfortunately, we are only onsite during scheduled meetings and events. All items must be brought in at the beginning of your reserved time and removed by the end of your time slot.
What am I responsible for with setup and cleanup?
We will have all tables, chairs, and rental packages set up before you arrive. You will just need to set up any items you choose to bring in. At the end of your event, we ask that you take all of your personal items with you. We will handle the venue cleanup.
Do you provide staff during the event?
A Venue 634 host will be onsite to welcome you, assist with initial setup, and answer any questions. If you need additional support (like service staff or bar assistance), we’re happy to arrange that for you and include it as part of your event package.
What kind of tables do you provide?
We offer a variety of table sizes to suit your event needs, including 60-inch round tables, and 4', 6', and 8' rectangular tables. We also have 30" round bistro tables that can be used as high-top tables or low tables. These can be used for guest seating, buffet service, gift tables, and more. Our tables are plastic banquet tables; we recommend covering the tables, and would be happy to provide linens as part of your event package.
Is your space handicap accessible?
Yes. We can designate handicap parking spaces upon request, and there is a ramp leading from the patio into the main event space.
Can we bring in our own food?
Yes, you’re welcome to bring in your own food or work with an outside caterer. Our sister company, Sweet Potato Catering, would also be happy to provide a quote for your event. (are we able to put in a link?) Please note: we do not have a kitchen or dishwashing facilities, so all food must arrive fully prepared and ready to serve.
Can we bring our own liquor?
Yes. All liquor must be provided by the client. We’re happy to assist with soft drinks, glassware, or disposable cups as part of your event package.
What are the music options at the venue?
We provide in-house speakers and an iPad for music. You can play a curated Spotify station, a playlist you’ve created, or connect your own device via Bluetooth. Music plays throughout the main room, foyer, and patio. If you plan to bring in a DJ, please note that we are in a residential neighborhood, so we ask that you be considerate and keep volume levels appropriate.
Are we allowed to hang items on the walls?
We have a few designated hooks placed throughout the venue for lightweight decorations. We do not allow anything to be taped, pinned, or affixed directly to the walls outside of these areas.
Do you allow glitter or confetti?
No. Glitter and confetti are not permitted, as they are difficult to clean and can damage the space.
Is smoking allowed?
The interior of Venue 634 is smoke-free. However, smoking is permitted on the patio, where a designated cigarette disposal bin is available.
